Bishop's Mission Corps returns to Grace
By Jud
The Bishop's Mission Corps, a group of young people living at Gray
Center for six weeks under the Rule of St. Benedict, has begun its
third summer there. The group is led this summer by C. J. Meaders, III.
C. J. has just completed nine months of life under Benedict's Rule
while in Aberdeen, MS. The group members this summer are Andrew
McClarty, Chris Hanna, Natalie Walden, and Lawrence Wainwright. They
will once again be working in Canton three mornings a week at Grace
Church with the Adolescent Offender Program. They will be worshiping
both at Grace and at other Episcopal churches in the area. We welcome
them once again and give thanks for their ministry among us. Please
welcome them heartily and keep them in your prayers. I'm also sure they
would love the chance to dine with you and tell you more about who they
are and what they are doing.

Daily Devotions
By JL
Some of our parishioners use FORWARD DAY BY DAY magazine which features a devotion based on the scriptures for a given day. Free copies of one of these quarterly booklets can be found in the parish hall or narthex. You can also read the daily reading on the internet at www.forwardmovement.org. Some of our parishioners use Daily Morning Prayer that begins on page 75 in the Prayer Book, Evening Prayer which begins on page 113 or Compline on page 127 just before retiring for the night. For internet users you can find all these Prayer book offices complete with daily Bible readings and Psalm on www.missionstclare.com . After reaching this web site click on “read online”. A calendar will come up. Go to the date you want and click on the sun or moon icon according to whether you want morning or evening prayer. Scroll down the left side through the service you have chosen. .You can choose to have music as part of your devotions as well as choose the King James Version or a contemporary translation of scripture.
